Retrospectacle #6
In which Tim walks us through the working mix of Sweet Billy Pilgrim's We Are the Bright Carvers, from the album Somapolis.
With all due apologies for the delay (it’s been a busy few weeks), here’s this week’s post; a walk-through of the working mix of the first song on our last album, Somapolis.
There’s stuff about the production, how it was composed and (vaguely) what it’s about. I’ve made every effort not to get too technical, because all of the ideas in the production should serve the songwriting / storytelling anyway, and who wants to hear a grown man bang on about his sidechaining habits (maybe I’ll do a whole post on that another day)…
I hope you find it interesting, and if you have any further questions arising, add them in the comments and I’ll do my best to enlighten you :-)
This is a post for paid subscribers, but if anyone is curious and skint (two words that pretty much sum up my creative life), I’d be more than happy to send you a YouTube link. Just email me at: sweetbillypatron@gmail.com.
